Verona Trattoria, Seksyen 17
Italian food at its best.
We were initially more drawn
to Bistro a' Table which is next door
because of the fancy lighting and decorations
but as reviews goes,
this is the place to be for the great stuff.
Unfortunately with us being tiny eaters,
(it was just me and the boy that night!)
we could only manage to try a few things that night.
The fried mozzarella sticks
was appetizers, which was OK
but not to be missed!
The oh-so-delicious cabonara
which i had contemplating switching
to their ravioli (which i'll come back to try!)
but im so glad i stuck to this
because its like heaven in a bowl.
Last but not least the pork belly
that was raved by comments and recommendations,
which the boy thought was good
especially with the crispy skin!
Look at the size of that thing!
As big as an Iphone!
We'll definitely be back for more.

Han Room, The Gardens
I think this truly surprised us
because we had recommendations
for us to try their peking duck
but with just the two of us,
it was just too much to go around
so we went with some of the other reviews
on fourquare and gut feelings
and went with these 3 dishes.
It surprised us because it was THAT good.
Hokkien mee topped with lard and
kailan fried 2-ways was EXACTLY
what we asked for.
The siu yuk (roast pork) literally
melts in your mouth and was the best we had.
(dont know if its the oil thats melting
but we didnt care it was gooooddd!!)

Wong Mei Kee @ Pudu, CoffeeSociété @ Publika and Dessert Storm @ B.I.G, Publika
Now this was just last Sunday.
Here we are thinking Han Room's roast pork
was the best we've ever had,
well get ready for more.
Here at Wong Mei Kee in Pudu
gives roast pork aka siu yuk
a whole new meaning to succulent.
It's funny because its got a whole different
taste to the normal ones that you try.
Secret is totally in the marination, i tell you.
Apparently you've gotta get a place by 12pm
and the dato' (in the picture)
will be out by 1230pm to start chopping
and serving starts then after.
So worth the wait for the best siu yuk
we've ever had EVER to date.
We were afraid we couldnt finish after having
a huge breakfast like an hour before.
One strip was too little and two might be a lil heavy
for 4 people who ate a huge breakfasts,
but we chomped two strips down in 4 minutes literally.
Sounds so sinful. -_-
Coffee break at CoffeeSociété in Publika.
Black coffee was good
but PP didnt quite like the Hazelnut latte
that was recommended highly on fourquare.
Personal preference i guess
and she thought it was too sweet for her liking.
I was over the moon to see another orange dessert
called the Sticky Orange cake
but it was a huge disappointment as it was
not only dry but hard like its been out for hours/ overnight.
Still hands down to *Nutmeg's flourless orange cake*.
Last but not least,
we finished our foodie hunt on Sunday
with one my most-wanted-to-try list: Cronuts or KLonuts.
We were quite skeptical
as there were mixed reviews on this.
They are baked fresh as per order
and we were so glad that they were able
to customise our order:
peanut butter with choc and lemon curd meringue.
But oh boy,
2 just wasnt enough. -_-
It may not be the best of the best desserts
but its definitely worth the RM6.60 per piece for trying.
