This is strange.

Had a strange friend request today.

Didnt recognise the girl
but it seemed like we were
from the same primary school
and had her baby's picture up
as her profile picture.

She's my age.
She's married
and her son is 4 months old.

Okay.
I shouldnt be acting all surprised,
i mean afterall she isnt the first person
i know from my age group to be married
and having children.

But what i dont understand is,
there was this one picture
with her and another friend's comments
just talking about motherhood.

The friend was saying how gorgeous
her baby boy is in the pictures
and she was asking how's many months
is she pregnant already and do they know
the gender of the baby.

I'm like...
"are we too young to talk about this?!"

And in another comment,
i see a common friend commenting
saying she was so shocked but happy
to see her classmate already married
and the girl just responded with,
"Are you STILL single?"

I mean is it not common
to be single our age now?!

That if you're not married
or having children by the age of 24,
you would be an outcast?

Im a girly girl
and i dream of a big gorgeous wedding
and i cant wait to be pregnant and all
but lately when i think about
having to leave my job
to stay home to look after the baby,
i just dont feel ready enough
to give my career up just yet.

Am I wrong for feeling this way?

I cant help it but feeling
disconnected with people my age group
and feeling under pressure.

Tell me,
are they too fast
or am i too slow?!

Its funny how ive lived
in Singapore for a whole year
and worked in the building next door
