I turned around to see
our new Belgium friend asking Adeline
while we were queueing up the bus.
"No she dyed her hair."
"Yeahh. I dyed my hair."
"No not the colour. I mean as in is it REALLY your own hair?"
"... O_O ..."
"You mean if she's wearing a wig?"
"Yeah because its so straight and nice..."
"Omg. Do i seriously look that bald?! T_T"
-----------------------------------------
Am boiling barley for the first time
and its absolutely tasteless. -_-
It was the first time
to the Chinese shops here in Bristol
as we were out having a birthday lunch
for Ivan at the restaurant next to it.
Am feeling so much better now
but I still have the husky voice
and its so not-sexy
when i have to meet the recruiters
on Saturday morning. T_T
Am prolly planning to go to Amsterdam
this middle of November,
for now it's study, study, STUDY!
Oh and London tomorrow of course. ;p
More updates when I get back!
*Edit*
So me and Adeline first attempt
to boil barley has failed.
In fact,
it sucked so bad
that not only was it tasteless
but it was also crunchy as well. O_O
Crunchy as in literally like CocoPop cereals. >_<
Oh well,
that's learning i suppose.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BALD. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Anyway.. good try at your barley.
hope to talk to u soon
You need to put A LOT of sugar to make a difference in the taste of barley, which might explain the bland taste. And you need to boil it for very long; I'm not sure how long though, to be honest.
boil the barley longer, with the pot cover slightly ajar... :) :)
the taste serious, damn good! :P
how d hell can it b crunchy?!?!
how long u boil??
n just add some rock sugar for flavour
i think.. it's crunchy coz it's not boiled long enough...
throw in the rock sugar and barley and just leave it there to boil for bout 1hr.. :)
but check on it occasionally :)
It's not suppose to be crunchy. You didnt boil it for long enough. You have to boil it with high heat for 45 mins(dont cover it), then turn it to low heat and continue to boil for 2 hrs at least(cover it with lid). then add rock sugar n heat it till sugar melt :) Good luck!!!:)
We did put quite a bit of sugar but because there were no water left it was just horrible. >_< We had it boiling for 3 hours and in between we were adding water as well when checking on it occassionally... haha dont know what went wrong but we're gonna try again... or maybe just pass it to another friend to cook for us haha!
haha. suddenly all the recipes come out.
