Yut Kee (Jalan Dang Wangi, KL) and The Good Batch (Uptown).

Oh my.

Been wanting to go back to Yut Kee
ever since my ex-colleagues brought me there
(while i was vegetarian mind you -_- major wrong timing haha)
a couple of years back
and it was the perfect timing
knowingly the boy had NEVER been there.

We had to bring Susu with us,
there was no way we could try out
so many dishes without him. -_-

Hainanese pork chop.

Susu insisted we tried their
french toast with homemade kaya.

Now the kicker was the kaya
which was different from the normal smooth ones.

They are available for sale by their counter
in lil plastic containers.

Belacan fried rice which was also
highly recommended by Susu.

I couldnt take the spiciness
but the boy left feeling so satisfied
that he went back 2 weeks later
to ease his cravings for more.

NOW THIS.

Is the ultimate heaven butter cake.

So famous that as 20 boxes leave the kitchen,
we had to fight for the last box in 15 minutes.

That's how fast it was all GONE.

No one has ever had any bad reviews on this. I swear.

Also only on weekends and after 11am,
that they will serve their famous roast pork
and kaya swiss roll.

Now the roast pork was another delicious dish
that we were just willing to wait,
but the kaya swiss roll not so much.

Note: Make sure you tell the young owner in dark framed glasses how many people you would want to be seated for or you will never get your table. They have one of the best seating system but be ready to share tables with others too for their full capacity!

We initially wanted to have some coffee break
after the big breakfast and stopped by
'The Good Batch' to try
but we just couldnt resist on trying
their Norwegian breakfast (eggs benedict with salmon).

Erm. Nothing fancy i would say
but mind you, we did try during their soft launch
so after the 10th of October (which was their official launch),
apparently they will be having much more things
on their menu that is well worth exploring.

Basically their plan is to serve breakfasts
from all over the world, all day,
so i.e. American breakfast, Portugese breakfast,
Spanish breakfast etc. and i think
we would come back again to give them a try
but maybe not so soon.

Love their decos tho
and make sure you spot this
on their toilet mirror
which allows you to scribble! hehe!

Last but not least,
we did some beer and cider tasting
at Ales & Lagers, Solaris Dutamas(behind EspressoLab).

Clearly i didnt like the taste
of that 'Old Engine Oil'. HAHA!
