H&M Avenue K Launch Party!

So the boy surprised me earlier last week
with an invitation to H&M Avenue K's launch party
along with a pair of one-of-a-kind handmade earrings
from his recent Singapore trip!

(Making up lost time while his away i suppose! haha!)

My outfit for the night!

Dress: Asos bodycon (Only 9 pounds!)
Earrings: Hubby's gift from Singapore!
Shoes: Topshop (50% off!)
Clutch: H&M

Freeflow of drinks + food + music
+ of course shopping = very happy me!

And look else was there
to spin for the night...!

None other than the beautiful,
Nadine Ann Thomas! :)

Me, Rachel (from school! Its been so long!) and Dine. x

The boy tried on some really,
really tight denims for fun. haha!

(Look at those bird legs! Skinnier than mine!)

Shopping burnt a huge hole
in my my husband's pocket
but it was all great investments, I say! HEHE!

And of course,
a gorgeous souvenir
to bring home.

I love picture #2. :)

Nutmeg @ BV 2

So last Tuesday was a public holiday
and whats better than not working?

Eating good food of course! haha!

The boys and I decided to try out Nutmeg,
for our post-yoga refuel,
which is located right opposite
Zara in Bangsar Village 2.

We were kinda skeptical about their mains
as we only hear good reviews on their desserts,
which i guess was a good thing because
we went in with really low expectations
but it turned out so much better than expected.

(Sorry for the ugly iphone pictures. ;p)

Their famous Southern Fried Chicken
in their all-day breakfast menu.

As per review, chicken was succulent
and that bread piece has more
of a scone texture-like.

It was served with some sauce
which Susu couldnt stop digging into
but the only problem we had with it was,

What is with the burnt poached eggs? O_o

Totally destroyed the taste
with its bitter, burned parts.

TJ ordered the salmon cross-wich,
was actually quite good!

Steph's eggs benedict.

Again, what is with the burnt eggs? Seriously?

This is mine.
And i loved it.

I customed to have them leave out
the chili flakes in the Salmon Aglio Olio
but hubby had the same thing with chili
and it tasted just as fantastic.

Now for the desserts,
we were so kiasu about the desserts finishing
so we ordered ahead of time to reserve them for us! HAHA

Their 'Awesome Carrot Cake',
which was moist but I wouldnt say
it was their most stand-out or the best
that ive tried.

Oreo cheesecake.

Cant go wrong with oreo la honestly.
Everyone loved it!

Chocolate hazelnut tart.

Also another great dessert
but doesnt stand out as much as the rest
as it has only that one rich chocolate taste to it.

However, its good no doubt!

Sticky date pudding and flourless orange cake.

Now i cant say much to the sticky date pudding
because im sensitive to caramel
but the people on the table said it was good.

But wait, let me come to the HERO
of the entire meal... that flourless orange cake.

I literally died and went to heaven with this gluten-free cake.

Funny how, im always not keen to try
flourless cakes because im afraid they wont
taste as good and moist
but oh my my, this flourless orange cake
totally changed my mind.

It was soooo good, we ordered twice.
Yes. Guilty as charged.

So to all those who have yet to try this place,
a recommended is the Salmon Aglio Olio
and that flourless orange cake.

Now, there my friends,
is a DAMN GOOD cake.

Restaurant Uptown Hokkien Mee

Seriously.

Why is it that no one has told me
about this place when I've lived in PJ
for about 3 years now!

A great new (old. -_-) place that we found
tucked away in the squares of Damansara Uptown
that opens only dinner time til late
which is perfect for the boy who ALWAYS works late.

Its along the same row as HSBC
and there are 3 hokkien mee shops on that row,
just make sure you go to the last one
with the yellow signboard!

We initially wanted to try
the hokkien mee from Ah Wa at Jalan 222
but it was closed that day
and so we went to the second best alternative
to try it out!

I thought it was not bad
but the boy said it was one of the best
he has had in a long while.

So at least it lives up to its own name!

Now funny enough,
this is what EVERYONE is raving about
at this restaurant.

Their fried rice.

I even read one review that said
the restaurant might as well rename itself to
'Restaurant Uptown Fried Rice' instead. HAHAHAHA!

But yes. The reviews were true.
It was amazing.

Other dishes to complement
our main courses.

I loved them both as it is
but the boy thinks that
the omelette with onion tasted better
by dipping it into the hokkien mee sauce. -_-

By the time u-turning and detouring
and after finding out Ah Wa at Jalan 222 was closed,
we had this late dinner at midnight,
and i have to say that this was probably
the one late dinner im not going to regret,
if i'd put on weight the next day. HAHA!

Life after the wedding.

Dinner date @ Euro Deli

Our first dinner date
as husband and wife
at Euro Deli, Damansara Kim.

After months of dieting,
I just really needed this. hehe.

Blogged about them previously *here*!

Dinner date @ Betty's Midwest Kitchen, Aman Suria

Heard about this famous place
for ages but never came around to try,
plus the only time we accidentally
stumbled upon this was during
the 7th ghost chinese month
and i was on vegetarian. -_-

The 'dog food' (which is actually
fries in a homemade sauce baked with loads
and loads of cheese!) is absolutely
to-die-for delicious!

Family bonding time @ in-laws house

Missing this lil bug
which takes 5 people
just to shower him. haha!

Spent some quality time
with the sis-in-law
and her family before they flew
back to Melbourne. :)

An Early Celebration!

It was an early birthday celebration
for the cousin-in-law, Karen
and baby Zander's 9th (month) birthday
before they all flew back to Melbourne.

Coincidentally we also celebrated
our first week anniversary
as husband and wife too that day. (yay us!)

Public Transport?!

For the first time,
my journey to Mid Valley
consisted of:

Walk - Shuttle bus - Train - Bus

Arrived to Mid Valley safely all and about
approx an hour (including the after-work hour jam!).

Was pretty nervous and excited at the same time
with it being my first time sitting public transport
in Kuala Lumpur since a long, long time!

I must say there are still good in Malaysian people
who selflessly helped me, guided me and even offered to pay
for my bus fare when I didnt have any change on me.

So proud to be Malaysian
at times like these! :)

Dinner with friends @ Hokkaido Ichiba, The Gardens.

I just needed to eat lah.
Get it? haha!

Got so excited to see
they have a whole menu full
of JUST desserts!

Heaven sent. x

Australian Confectionary, Jalan Imbi

Went to settle some wedding bills
with the bakery that did our wedding cake
and just to show you what an amazing job
they did with my wedding cake
that i specifically requested to look like
the 'Twilight' movie's wedding cake.

Look at how amazingly similar it is!
The left is the original
and the right is mine!

Changed the colors of the flowers
to match my theme and she added more beads.

And they always say, its not just the quantity
but the quality of the cake as well,
and it tasted freaking fantastic.

Im so glad that I choose them
to do this up for me on my very special day.

If you would to know more about them
or visit them, heres the address:

Australian Confectionary

I've previously blogged about them *here*
and they have vastly improved since then
(even tho they were already so good!)

Absolutely love their cakes and cookies!

Family bonding time @ Parents' house

Helped with the homemade panmee
for dinner. :)

A special gift from the USA!

A very special gift
from my cousin-in-law
all the way from the States!

I swear that shipping prolly cost more
than the porcelain figurine itself. :(

But still, so sweet of her to send them all the way
and they are huge too!

Absolutely love it. :)

Supper @ La Creperie de Caroline, Bangsar Telawi

Since im no longer on a bridal diet,
we'd do crepes for supper! haha!

With MingKing and Susu,
to try out this new French place
in Bangsar, Telawi.

We had their famous salted butter & caramel
and the house-made chocolate & toasted bananas.

Smurflicious!

Dip 'N Dip

Have you ever seen a more beautiful dessert?

Yes. I have
and im totally in love.

Now i know alot of people have complained
about the language barrier and
horrible services at this cafe,
so try to to aim for less peak hours.

It would still be packed
(theres always a long queue!)
but at least services would be better
in my opinion.

Beware, dip 'n dip
as im coming for more
binge eating post-wedding!
