Casual Reception staff required for the UWE Sports Centre at Frenchay

Location: UWE Frenchay
Duties: Employed on a casual basis to cover sickness, annual leave, events, busy periods etc. Shifts offered would be ad hoc
Skills: Full training will be given. CLOSING DATE IS 6 OCTOBER.
Hours: See duties section
Duration: As required
Rate: £7.93 ph for any time of day (day, evenings, weekends)
How to apply: Call in the UWE Sports Centre Reception at Frenchay Campus to collect an application form. There are 5 vacancies and only 30 application packs will be issued. Mention UWE Job Shop.

When i checked my mail box, this email had been sent out only 3 hours ago. it was 11am. and 30 applications to go. I had to be one of them, I thought to myself smiling. :)

It was perfect. with the flexibility of the job and how near it was to my flat. and dont even get me started on the pay. *slurps* >.<

I told my mum about it. she was delighted with the flexibility of the job. She even said that the money i earn, could be put to use when the boyfriend comes to visit in March. I excitedly jumped into the shower and got ready in the next hour.

It was 12pm when i left the house. It was only a mere 3 minutes walk. On the way there, i gave a short call to my boyfriend telling how great the pay was and flexibility of the job. He was happy.

"Hi. can i speak to anyone regarding the job vacancies..." before i could finish i was cut off by the receptionist.
"Im sorry there isn't any vacancies left im afraid. sorry."

I was shocked.

"I think you're mistaken. i only received this email about 4 hours ago."
"Yes and there were 30 applicants already. all given out. sorry."



30 in 4 hours?!WTF.


Lesson learned. So next time whenever my mail box notifier informs me of any emails, i will immediately check and just run out with my house clothes. >.<
