Welcoming December Over the Weekends!

Saturday

Started off Saturday morning
with Chee Cheong Fun at the famous
Hai Keng Restaurant for RM3 a plate.

Lucky us as we arrived at 8:55am
and it was sold out by 9:05am. Crazy.

There are two Chee Cheong Fun stalls here.
One by an auntie that serves yong tau foo as well
and another by an old man that serves it plain.

We tried both.

As reviews stated and we both agreed,
the old man (which is closer to the back of the restaurant)
was clearly the winnner despite it being cold and plain,
but there was just something in the sauce
that strongly distinguished it from its competitor.

Lunch was with this two.
(who took my phone to camwhore. -_- HAHA)

And also the grand opening
of *My Apparel Zoo*.

Thanks for the invitation, Ellie!

Address: B2-1-12 Publika, Solaris Dutamas
(Take the lift to level 1, next to Sony Centre. Walk pass the white doors and it will be on your right!)

Later that afternoon was followed
by my volunteer work with *World Vision*
on the on-going project, Gift of Hope 2013.

Basically instead of just doing one-off donations,
World Vision has now done it in a more creative manner
to donate a goat/ chicken/ football/ clean water/ healthcare etc
to these children and their community.

Also, it can be a great gift for Christmas
if you have yet to get your loved ones anything yet
as you can donate it on behalf of your loved ones' names
and send it in a giftcard.

Good karma, yo! :)

No doubt one of the most tiring
but fruitful day of my entire year
and we're so glad to have hit our target
that evening thanks to the most generous crowd.

If you would like to check it out,
please come to our booth,
(behind La Bodega, next to Rolex)
for more information!

We'll be there till end of December,
every Friday till Sunday from 10am-10pm. :)

Or check out their *website*
for more information.

Last good deed of the year, peeps!

Finished the day with a yam cha session
with Nelson (who came back from Melbourne!),
Kaitlyn (who is here to visit from Singapore!)
and AndrewTeh (whos moving to Singapore for work soon!).

What a busy
but fruitful Saturday. :)

Sunday

Woke up at 11am
for the first time in months
and the boy took me for brunch at J&D Espresso.

We had the big Aussie breakfast,
eggs benedict and this lovely chocolate jaffa cake.

Portions are small as indicated on the reviews
and a lil small in fact for us to indulge to even taste
but I would consider to come back for their famous pork burger.

Not bad I would say. :)

While the boy had errands to run,
I decided to skip and have some me-time.

So i did some baking. :)

Will blog about this separately.

Last but not least,
the last event to our weekend evening,
Afif and Fara's wedding. :)

A delicious surprise!

Im prolly the most easiest
person to please.

I have a serious soft spot
for pastries and especially
when its combined with chocolate.

And the hubby knows me so well
on how to keep me happy with surprises
like these all the time. :)

Go try their chocolate croissant,
you'll be craving for more!

Happy Days.

Couple tees that my sis
bought for me and the boy as souvenirs
from Universal Studios Singapore,
which matches our key pouches perfectly. haha :)

Excuse the no make up
hence the small Chinese eyes. -_-

Tortilla night with cherry tomatoes,
pork stir-fried with cabbages. Yumm.

Bak Kut Teh for breakfast,
then cakes and coffee
with my favourites one Sunday morning. :)

Finally took the time to visit
the soon-to-be cousin-in-law's
restaurant at Kelana Jaya,
right behind Paradigm mall. :)

So delish, its to die for. :D

My morning runs. :)
When i can actually wake up haha

This isnt quite a recent photo
but im proud to say today here
that ive lost a total of 15.5kg
as of this morning at a 7 months
& 3 weeks duration.

Just a few of my happy things. :)

Jeeme and Baby Zander.

Taken from Hennley's facebook album and photo by *Jon Low*.

That beautiful bond with the lil man
and the lil man's best friend.

Just too cute not to document it. :)

Happy 4 months, my future-to-be nephew!

Chef Sher.

So as you can tell
from my instagrams,
i love cooking.

It was ACTUALLY a REAL excuse
for me to move out 3 years ago,
because I wanted my own kitchen. (honest!)

Now with me working just walking distance to my home,
I make an effort to cook lunch at home,
that way I get to watch what i put in my food
and also by counting the calories i eat carefully.

Here are just some of my food inventions
for some healthy eating!

Please note that this isnt for everyone,
especially for those who want to build muscles
or have a balanced meal.

All my recipes are without carbs and counted specially
to fit my diet to becoming a bride this September!

#1

Ingredients:
Tofu (pre-fried)
Red Onion
Chicken 100g
Brussel Sprouts 100g

You'd be surprise how nice
brussel sprouts can taste by chopping them up
into tiny pieces and mixing with the right dish!

I pre-seasoned the chicken
and always fry using olive oil (Bertolli)
with only 1 teaspoon (10ml) to complete the dish!

#2

Ingredients:
Tofu (pre-fried)
Bak Choy
Red Onion
Fried Egg
Tomatoes

So here's the deal,
I only have eggs (1 egg: 90kcal)
whenever I dont have meat in my dishes.

That way i dont overdose myself
with my allowed count of protein a day.

#3

Ingredients:
Tofu (firm)
Cod Fish 100g
Red Onion
Cabbage 100g

Simple yet delicious.
Just the way i love it. :)

#4

Ingredients:
Tomatoes
Romaine
Chicken
Eggs
Red Onions
Japanese Roasted Sesame Seed Dressing (1 tablespoon)

I know i just mentioned i dont put
eggs and meat in a single dish,
but this was something I did before
i came out with my calorie count recipes.

It was also a classic cesar salad dinner
for one rainy night,
to share with the boy and I. :)

#5

Ingredients:
Tomato (half)
Chicken 100g
Spinach
Red Onions

This was clear-your-fridge day,
so I just threw whatever i had in the pan
and this turned out! :)

#6

Ingredients:
Shiitake mushrooms
Cherry tomatoes (5 = 10kcal)
1 Egg
French beans 100g
Firm Tofu

Here's another clear-your-fridge day dish haha!

I just absolutely love the colours
on this one! :)

#7

Ingredients:
Minced meat
Carrots (half)
Corn Flour

Okay so im particularly proud
of this one.

I was watching Jamie Oliver's 15 min meal
and improvised it a lil by adding carrots
before rolling it into lil balls.

I was suppose to use only 2 tablespoons of olive oil
but mum accidentally poured too much into the wok. -_-

You can always change it to add
chopped up spinach, cheese or onions into your meat
and it becomes a great snack!

#8

So i was told,
that having celery
with peanut butter was
a majorly delicious snack.

So i tried having it one tea-break,
considering celeries
are actually zero calories.

Ingredients:
Celeries 100g
Peanut butter with chocolate stripes 32g

Unfortunately for me,
it didnt change my mind at all
about eating raw celeries.

So i ran to the kitchen
to get myself plain biscuits
from Meiji (99 cal a packet)
and ate them with the remaining peanut butter.

Dont waste food right? ;p

A 'Sweet' Surprise

Came back to the office after lunch
to find a lovely surprise
sitting on my desk.

It really made my day.

---------------------------------------------

Children.

So after much thought recently,
with finances and time all in the way,
i was really considering of having children
much later in life.

Told my dad about it
and this is what he said.

Dad: No. 28, 29 years old is just right. I wont live so long you know.
Me: What? Why do you think you wont live for another 5 years or so?
Dad: Because i would want to play with them too and i cant do that when they are too young or when im too old. When they are 3 to 4 years old, that's just right!

Hm okay.
The pressure is on. T_T haha

Happy Things #2

Okay so the cut isnt exactly
the happy thing i was referring to
or rather my favourite cup that fell
and shattered that gave me this cut
but its the story after this.

The picture really does no justice
to the pain i had to endure.

But the happy thing to this story
was that the boy carried me away
from the broken glasses
and started clearing up the bigger
pieces before vacuuming the rest
as i watch him from my bed.

After clearing up the broken pieces,
he went on to wash my wound
and plastered a band aid for me.

I swear he still makes my heart melt
and just never fails to make me smile
after so many years. :)

Unnecessary.

Theres just too many things to blog about
about how torn i am with my life
between good and bad.

How im constantly never happy
with what i have and how
i always compare with others,
be it career, success, lifestyle,
relationships or earnings.

I just work hard
and sometimes i wonder
why i do die trying.

Heard some horrible things
about someone i love today
and i choose to turn away.

Thats it.

Im going to make an effort
to shut off negative comments
and keep improving on my life.

And now that i have SarahSim
to help me with my wedding plans
i can actually fill my time
instead of unnecessary thoughts.
